Wealth and propensity temple of Orchha

The religious city Orchha that is  123 kms away from Gwalior. where have a unique Lakshmi temple which reveals the uniqueness in its own architecture that from the outside it designates like a triangle in shape and from inside it resembles like a rectangle. This temple has devoted that goddess of wealth and propensity.

This temple has Hindu/Rajputana and Mughal architectural style. Earlier in this temple 5ft gold idol of goddess Lakshmi was installed but recently Some thieves steal the statue of Goddess Laxmi and the thieves were from the local or nearby place of Orchha now there is no idol of goddess Lakshmi.  this temple is not made by stones it is constructed by broken bricks, guar gum, jegri, urad dal and finishing of the walls are done by the white powder.

Some says goddess Lakshmi rides the owl and some believe the owl simply accompanies her so that's why on the front door of the temple, there is an owl face.

In the temples, there are several
wall paintings which show different and the great stories of India like Mahabharata,
Ramayana, Dasehra, the life of Queen of Jhansi (Jhansi ki Rani)
and etc. Some paintings are on the roof and some on the walls. These paintings are 200 years old and the temple is 400 yrs old. These paintings are created by the natural colors and they are permanent in nature.   "when this temple was not in the hand of ASI that time some people destroyed the wall painting but now ASI is working on those destructed paintings by coloring them and etc"  said by the caretaker of the temple."on the second floor of the temple has a building of two-three floors which shows the speaker like feature earlier when the priest of the temple  used to chant mantras and the process of offering prayers to God in front of the fire (havan) so the people who live nearby the temple they can also listen, that's why I said that it has a speaker like a feature and ultimately the Mantras which were voiced around that makes the peaceful environment" said by the watchman of the temple.   The reason behind to construct this temple was that king Veer Singh Deo wants that god Lakshmi aways takes care of the palace and the people of his kingdom by keeping the wealth,  power, and royal splendor.  The second reason was "that his (king) son wants the temples in the front of his room window so that's why the king gave the instruction to construct the temple in front of the palace" said by Mr. Chaitanya Pawa .

On the Diwali occasion, the local people of Orchha goes to Lakshmi temple.
