The Elegance of Local Handicraft- Batto Bai Dolls

Create Memories with Handicrafts"

As we all know, handicrafts are unique in their own right due to environmental factors, culture, and a variety of other factors.
Do you know anything about our Gwalior city's handicrafts?
Our city is known as Gwalior's Heritage City, but most Gwalior residents are unaware of the city's heritage handicrafts. Everyone believes that we have a fort, a museum, and other Gwalior monuments, but we do not have heritage. We have a very rich tangible heritage as well as "handicrafts" and many other things of Gwalior about which many people are unaware, and after a certain time period people will have no idea what is our heritage.
Our city's artefacts are well-known throughout the world, and one of them is the "Batto bai doll."
Batto Bai Dolls are a status symbol in our city, and we are the unofficial brand ambassadors of our handicrafts, including Batto Bai Dolls.
Doll craft from Madhya Pradesh can compete with many branded toys, and it is one of them.
Batto Bai was a lady who started making these dolls based on her name, and these dolls are known as Batto Bai Dolls. Batto Bai was from Gwalior, and her fourth generation still lives in Gwalior.
These dolls are made of bright fabrics, clay, cotton, wires, beads, silver paint, bamboo, and other materials. These dolls have tribal modifications, and their sizes range from four to five feet. The colours used to make these dolls are natural permanent colours, such as vegetable colours, which provide the best color for coloring the clothes, costumes, and facial expressions of the dolls created in traditional ways. These dolls are sold in sets of two.
Mr. Vikas Singh, who runs an NGO dedicated to preserving heritage and disseminating information about it, stated that " "Battobai, a Gwalior-based craftswoman, has an international reputation and has received numerous awards from both the state and central governments.
Battobai's dolls are well-known throughout the world and are widely exported. Dolls craft is an intriguing piece of work that represents a different tradition and culture in India. Her family is now her primary focus, but due to increased awareness, many more people are becoming involved in this art form. These sweet little dolls are made with small cloth pieces, the main structure of the folk is made of bamboo only, and they are created in Gwalior, Bhopal, and Jhabua." These dolls are easily available in many places in Gwalior such as Laskar, Bada, Nai Sadak, and stalls of Batto bai dolls are installed every year in the Gwalior fair, and so on.
Batto bai dolls start at 200rupees and are used to give as gifts, for home decoration, like toys for children, and so on. Batto bai dolls are now well-known throughout the world, with many being exported to Japan, France, Australia, the United States, and other countries.
