Gwalior Sun Temle

It is one of a significant spectacular shrine in Gwalior dedicated to the holy Sun God. constructed by the famous industrialist Ghanshyam Das Birla.  The temple construction was completed in 1988, the construction took almost four years and four days. Gwalior Sun Temple has almost the same basic architecture just like a  legendary   Konark Sun Temple, Puri, Orissa. The temple is constructed by red sandstone and pearly white marble. Sun temple is situated in the middle of the Garden and initially, the name of the garden was Tapovan Garden but after the completion, the name of the garden changed to  Surya Van or Surya Garden.  In terms of architecture, the temple looks like a chariot pulled by seven horses, four horses on one side and three horses on another side of the temple with 24 wheels, the seven horses symbolize or represent the seven days of a week and the 24 wheels signify the 24 hours of a day in which 12 wheels reveals day time and  the 12 wheels shows the night. in and ar
